Age requirement. You have to be 18+ and that's really the only thing. We're not here to ID people, but just be honest with us.
One account per person. Use whatever name you like — a pen name is fine — but don't pretend to be someone else.
How we treat each other
Be respectful, but be honest. Critique the work, not the person who wrote it.
No harassment. Tough to define, but easy enough to identify. Don't stalk people, don't be a weirdo.
Disagreeing with rules, decisions, or how this site is run is not a violation.
Feedback should be written by people, for people. Please don't use AI-generated reviews or comments.
Your work and other people's
Stories here are not published. They sit behind a login and they stay yours.
Don't repost someone else's story without their permission.
You're not required to share anything and can remove the 'sharing' option at any time.
AI Policy
AI generated or re-written prose isn't welcome. Spell checking is okay. There's a big difference and I think we can all see the idea behind this.
Don't run other people's work through AI detectors.
Stories that get removed
This is a big one. We do reserve the right to, in extreme cases, remove a story from the platform. This is a very rare thing and we take this 'nuclear option' very seriously. Stories may be removed if:
- They're not a story. There's no attempt at writing a real story. Filler, gibberish, etc
- Sexualised minors. Illegal content. Incitement to violence against real people.
- Fan fiction / other people's IP. Sorry, I love fan fiction, but we can't have it here for legal reasons.
- Breaks the word count or format rules.
- Information that identifies the author in blind-judged competitions.
Writing a disgusting story isn't grounds for removal. We believe in the right to free speech. That includes brutally honest reviews, at times.

Rule 5: the catch-all
Be cool. Judgement applies, and you can appeal it. We'll have an appeals process and all that at some point. But we're not looking to ban people for no reason.
Changes
This set of guidelines is subject to change at any time, though we'll give notice for real rule-changes.
